I found your site very interesting and the photographs of the different things great. This is the first time that I have found your site and you could spend lots of happy hours going through it. My cousin Alice Murdoch went to your country many years ago from Scotland. I can see now why people talk of the lovely people of Australia and their kindness. thanks for a wonderful tour
Very nice,beautifull scenery.Thanks
Hi,

I found your site by Google searching for some minolta X 300.
I want to buy some used Minolta X-300, and if you are interested to sell me, mail me and tell me more information about.

choose ARTIST > Dusan Zutinic (last one) and you will see some of my pics - portraits, sport etc...
Now I am using old PRAKTICA EE3, with Zeiss 50mm/1.8 and thats it

Many beautiful photos. Makes me want to take up serious bushwalking and serious photography. Sigh. I have some shots taken in national parks on Mt Tamborine that I'll submit. Just using a digital, but they look ok to my layman's eye.
I enjoyed the photos of places I have never seen and views of the snowy mountains. You did well in capturing the beauty of the land.
What a fabulous collection of work.. I look forward to seeing the spoils of your your future travels.
happy travels.
Emma
Wonderful!
Absolutely beautiful!
Many thanks for the great pix, which brought back many happy memories
of South Coast trips in the 70s and 80's. It does not seem to have changed much,
except for the upmarket loos with views. Do recall a loo somewhat similar but much more primitive
at Deadman's Bay (it was more like a bear trap!).
All the best
Paul
after 25 years away from the land of oz, coming across this site was an amazing experience. what views! it's all beautifully presented. thanks for the pleasure. keep up the good bushwalking!
Hi All,
Great site, thank you.
Can anybody help !, I need a flash for my Minolta X-700.I am not sure if it is possible to obtain new stock for this model but I certainly would purchase a good second hand unit if available.
Thanks and regards
Sean
Hi
Love this site, the pics are fabulous. Can't wait for winter, and get back into the Victorian high country. Would love to come back and visit Jindabyne again, haven't been there since I was a kid.
See my site below for the Jindabyne Apartments listing, and many other self-contained properties in Australia and all over the world.

The slideshow was great, thankyou for your effort in putting it together. Mal Brice. Fellow bushwalker & very amature photographer.
i'M INTERESTED FROM THE PHOTO GALLERIES CALLED 'WHITSUNDAY'.
WOULD I BE ABLE TO BUY A PRINT OF THAT AND IF YES, HOW MUCH?
TKS
What a great acchievement - first getting to the places and then sharing them with us. I would like to store them in my computer jsut to look at when I need inspiring. I might also like to send an image or 2 to my family overseas. Would it be OK to include in a Powerpoint presentation for educational purposes if you were given appropriate acknowledgement?
Regards,
Angela Lownie
Your site was recommended to me by a fellow bushwalker.
I really enjoyed the great shots as I am not a good photographer myself. Only the reflections didn't work too well on my XP.
I truely enjoyed this site. I never knew there was so much snow in Australia! Thank-you for allowing me the opportunity to learn more about your country; it is spectacular.
Great and mum would be proud
Came across your site while sitting in my dingy little Canberra office with a stingy ray of sunlight.....

Great photos. Very inspiring, espeacially for aspiring amateur..like me.
The Snowy Mtns. section is particularly interesting, as I'm heading to Thredbo this weekend. Skiing and climbing are my hobbies and I'm very pleaased, that activities of this kind are quite popular in a desert country like Australia.
I was born in Slovakia and I grew up there, skiing every weekend in winter and trekking in summer. I live temporarily in Sydney at the moment and I've been waiting for this moment to head down the south to see the mountains. Thanks for very inspiring web-site.
An interesting collection of photos. I was surprised how green the area is. You did a nice job on the gallery software as well.
Thank you
For such a diverse range of pictures of Australia.
Thank you for allowing them to be sent as post cards. I have many friends OS and thus allowing me to show the beauty of our country.
G'day, found your site by my hit tracker. You have some excellent photos here. I have enjoyed my visit very much. I have many photos on my site, most taken with my digital camera, Sony Mavica FD84. Take care, Stone
Peter,
I love your site. Not only is it very professionally done but your photography (and Inger's) is magnificient. Do you want some underwater images for your guest gallery? Thanks for the postcard and slideviewer scripts, and of course for installing them so professionally.

Steve

Hinchinbrook Island looks spectaclar thanks to your fabulous photography. It makes me want to go there and try my beginner skills with my new Nikon. I also enjoyed Wilsons Prom. as it was totally fogged out when we tried to visit in March, 2001.
It was a very exciting expereience to watch these slides.
The gallery setup is great. Hope I can get mine looking the same.

Looking at natural beauty makes me want to get out in it.Thank you for giving me the inspiration. The wind and rain in your face, the heat and smoke and light of a camp fire, the babble of a creek slowly running over small stones, the smell of the bush after rain awakening your senses, the birds calling in a rainforest at dawn.Yes a downloaded photo is never a complete picture. Hoo Roo.
Hi everyone,
Has anyone had the experience of walking the Thorsborne Trail at Hinchinbrook Island??? If so can they tell us what they thought of it.....the goods/bads??

Hi, this is a nice site with great photos! Best regards from Tom.
hey you have an awsome site!!!
Hi,
I looked at the photo gallery and, I realy loved the pictures! I think you should have some snake pictures included. I'm doing a project on animals of Austraila for my Goegraphy class and I just can't find any snake pictures. I know Austraila has plenty of them to.
Well goodbye
Hi,
Greetings from Finland.
I am in my first year of learning 35mm photography. After seeing your slideshows, I really need to travel to some places that offer compositions for the mind. Where we live it is Brown, and thats it. I really love macro photos. Have not bought a lens yet. Any suggestions other than Canon( Too expensive ) would be welcomed. I use a Canon Elan ll, which, I believe is the same as an EOS 50. Thanks for your beautiful art of 35mm, it was an insiring journey. Not to steal any of your knowledge, but I would love to see your setting data with the pictures.
Jim
Thanks for sharing your lovely photos. Great that I can send them as postcards too.
Maureen
Nice job on your scripts and web site...the whole site works VERY well!
G'day
I like your site very much and have been happily sending your postcards around the place. Your images are great (and so are your wife's - another good site). Re the postcards: I would love to know where you got such classy and smooth-running musical arrangements - far superior to what the 'dedicated' post card sites generally offer.
Good work all round.
Gorgeous photos.found your web page from reading Pete Dunwell's Laceby page.
Great site I found by chance.
Thanks,
Steve
Hi my name is George Barker I have a big family in Laceby and have done for some years.

Great site. Great photos. Great idea with the reflections.
Really enjoyed the pictures thanks for the treat.
Absolutely beautiful. Man has an affinity with nature, especially water,. I adored the reflections gallery. The net is so full of the darker side of our nature. Lovely to stumble accross such an uplifting and reflective site.
i am also trying to write cgi scripts on www.space.net.au
do you by any chance know the path to the perl interpreter
something like
#!/usr/local/bin/perl
it is the very first line of every perl cgi script
i am in constant contact with the webmaster david wilcox
he either does not know or will not say
any clue at all gratefully received
best wishes on Australia day

I was just taking a couple of moments while having lunch at work and I tripped over your web site. I have found it to be so beautifully inspiring and so peaceful. You have allowed me to be transported for a few moments of peace to all those amazing places. It doesn't mean that I don't still want to travel...
Thank you
Great shots and easy to view. a few notes would be great. I especially liked the shots of Moreton NP. Just got back from a rugged two days, Island Mountain, Sluice Box Falls, Mt Sturgiss, past Pagoda rocks (see the photo in the gallery) and back via Hidden valley and Newhaven gap. Now thw Car Park is back near the Braidwood road, we ride our Mt. bikes down to Camp rock. The vegetation is very very thick at the moment. Track notes in the books are grossly out of date re prickle bushes, tea tree, etc.!!! I have the scars to show! The going was about 1km per hour at times, and the bush regularly undid our double tied boot laces!.
Grat Photos again THANKS.
Thanks for the info.
Excellent stuff

Hi there--
I love your pics and postcards. I will tell everyone I know about your site. I sent one of your cards to a very dear friend of mine and told him that we must visit Tasmania, Wineglass Bay especially, one day. Have a great day and keep up the awesome work with your photos. It helps people like me, in the USA, who have fallen in love with Australia, and New Zealand, to feel closer to that part of the world--even though I am 8000 miles away. Thanks again...
G'day to you--
Shelley

Beautiful Pictures! Hope this sight gets bigger.

Does anyone here have a road map that will give directions from Alice Springs, Australia to Ayers Rock, Australia. These are both in the Northern Territory.
Loved the picture of Mother... she sounded like a real goer!
ur site is really really bad and i think that u should change itall alot!!!thanx
Loved your photos I've not thought about going to Koscuiszko but seeing your photos I will.Don't you think the pleasure of long distance tracks is spoilt if their readily accessed along the way?
Love the photos in the gallery. Is it possible to include a map reference for future browsers? It gives us a starting point for hike plans. Cheers Warren

Heard of this website from my brother, Ron, in the Temple of Peace and Tranquillity in Hong Kong, and enjoyed the beautiful photographs, especially the one of your adventurous Mother. Will be back to visit, and will spread the word to friends. Your website is very well organized.
A very good collection of huts of which I have not been able to visit myself as I am unable to walk
any distance of more than a kilometre or so. I would like to know if any of your photos are for sale
or what ever. I use copies of photos and transfer them on to place mats and coasters.
Hope To Hear From You

As a teacher .. I am particularly interested in showing young people the variety of the Australian natural scenery.
I have a website where we post the outdoor education images
collected during trips with the Essendon Bushwalking Club and school excursions.
It was great to see your site.
We use FrontPage and a lot of purely digital photography.

I loved it! - everything.
Sent postcards to all my friends overseas who have access to email... maybe the photos will make them want to visit! Then I watched the slideshow (there were more!!!!). I thought it would take aaaages to go through, but it worked really well. Congrats on a job well done!
I really enjoyed your photo's. I would like to see a few more on the NT and the Overland Track - but I get the feeling that you are too busy skiing to get north! Great skiing shots though - makes me want to slap the boards on and head to the hills. Pity I am in Darwin for the next month!
Learned quite a bit about slide shows. Thanks very much.... There are still tons of us stupid people out here.....

Anybody know of a Sarah Sekhran? She loves nature.

Best Regards, John
Thanks for the slide show. It generated memories of my visits to quite a few of these huts. I have photos of several of them, but not taken in winter.

I've had a back problem which threatens my skiing/walking.
I need to lose 20 kg pronto - a catch 22 without being able to exercise so much.
Your slide shows have improved my determination to get back out there no end!
Thanks
Great photos and great to remember past trips.
gorgeous photography. I can't wait to see it all in person.
A good selection depicting early australia.
A good selection depicting early australia.
great pictures, lovely scenery. The snow pictures are all good and well but how old are those pictures, i mean how long has it been since we have had snow like that. Also, the trip to Jagungal from the south past valentines hut, is weather usually a problem. Thanks a lot.
Thank you.I could (and do) spend hours "enjoying" your travel pictures.
What wonderful slides of the South Coast of Tasmania. I am planning to walk there for the first time and this only makes me want to do it sooner.
This is a great site to find those pics I'm looking for.
It's great to use them as post cards.
I would like to use one of your images for the wallpaper of my PC. That's all it would be used for.
Thanks in advance

"The true priorities of life; genuine friendship and Back Country Ski Touring". Excellent site and great photos........Q. how many days until Winter? Answer = Too many. Maybe see you out there.
The best slide show application I have seen to date. The only thing
that is missing is the addition of sound clips, which would make it
pretty much perfect. The index and postcard features are just great.
Thanks for the views and experience.

Ive got some shots of huts around the Licola area that you may or may not be interested in, email me and Ill scan em through. Thanks.
Here I am on a hot, humid February night reliving the joys of Cross Country Skiing - even photo of the finish of the KAC Martini that I've skied in for the last 3 years (55-60). And there's more! The Overland track that we walked in January 1998 - fine weather all the way too, in the middle of poor Tassie's drought. It is a fantastic web site. Congratulations and thank you!
Those photos are enough to make me want to visit your beatiful country, I hope to visit in august how is the weather in august?

Sure did enjoy your photos and the slideshow.I hope one day I will come see your continent...
Very nice country...found yer url quite by accident...turned up on Slideviewer example...love to see the world...the Net's a wonderful way to visit...your's is very scenic...All th' Best! Mates!
i visted the Snowy Mt. in your summer season and found them very scenic. After I looked at the
scenes you took of the "Snowy's" I see the winter scenes are much more beautful and beath takihg
then in the summer.
Beautiful photos! I viewed the slideshow...just great. Two years ago, I was selected to visit Australia for six months on a International 4-H Youth Exchange, but was unable to go because of the expenses. I really regret not being able
to go; however, I am determined to visit Australia one way or another! It has been my passion since seeing "The Man From Snowy River," and I am sure everything is not exactly like in the movies, but it gives me an idea of what to expect, anyway.
Love your web page & am glad I was able to visit & see the wonderful pictures of such a beautiful place! Thanks!
-Kris
Top slide show, best web site visited yet.
I have just spent Christmas with my family at Howson Hut in B.C.'s northwest. It is a log cabin on the shore of McDowell Lake just outside Smithers. While skiing some of the 30 km of tracks this morning we saw 5 moose grazing on the willows while belly deep in fresh dry champagne powder snow. What a holiday, no power, no phone, no T.V. Just us , the kids our skiis, some turkey and a scrabble game.
I have visited several huts in KNP while horse-riding in the northern end of the park.
They are
*Cooinbil Hut
*Long Plain Hut
*Coolaman Homestead
*Bill Jones' Hut
*Harris' Hut (very disappointed that it was burned down)
*Pockets' Hut
*Hainsworths' Hut
*Peppercorn Hut
*Pethers Hut (ruin)
*Old Currango
We hope to eventually ride to all of the huts in KNP
Can anyone recommend a good ride that takes in huts that we have not visited.
PETER
I'm an Aussie Expat living in the USA .... your pictures bring back lots of wonderful memories to me.
I'll be back home one day !
You have an excellent eye for an image, the photos are a pleasure to behold.
The slide-show also works very nicely (ie. fast). Thanks, and Merry Christmas.
Nice photos & perl-scripts!
I wish you and your family merry x-mas and happy new year 1999!
Jari
Friend Anne and I are up to our bums in snow right now (which is not all bad) but planning our trip to Hinchinbrook in February. Thanks for giving us such a great look at the place.
great photo's, especially of kanagra, i'm thinking of walking there soon so it gives a good insight to what it is
I am trying to learn CGI and PERL on my own. I justhope that I get some help from this family of Internet users.
Having just watched the slideshow I am more convinced than ever of the beauty of our magnificent country and the importance of preserving its ecology for future generations.
You need to add something about ancient Egypt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great show! Thanks for the wonderful photos!
most enjoyable, thanks for the opportunity to learn about beautiful places I have not yet visited. Surprised to see a couple of sites in nsw particularly- I thought I had seen the entire state- obviously not.
Stunning shots!
You've captured the feel of each location brilliantly.
Have been contemplating joining the Canberra Bushwalking Club so that I can safely explore further than I can on my own. Your pictures have convinced me to do so, as they're exploring ACT's Namadgi Nat Park this weekend, and some of the Kosciuszko Huts next month.
Thanks for your enthusiasm!
Sensayssionel. I'have bean walkin four a wile now and I am loven it. It wos yor sit that enspirered me to start bushwalkin and i havent been able to get enuff. I thenk you from the bottem of my hart and hope that you can keap the sit goin for heaps more time in the futor.

I hope to see more wonderful pictures in the future.
(my own homepage is under construction and on this moment in dutch)
regards,
Arjen Dekker.
Peter,
Just had a look at the skiing galleries, in light of the poor
1998 season we are currently experiencing and remember with much
pleasure the 5 day ski tour you have featured in your ski tour gallery.
Hows the O.S. tripping going for you and Inge?. We got our annual trip
up Mt Bogong this year, even got Sandy and Roger along. Was very
enjoyable even in a poor year the gullies on Bogong are always fun.
Hope you two get some quality skiing in while O.S.!
Cheers Peter
Great pictures !!!
Greetings from Austria !
Hansf@aon.at
I certainly enjoyed visiting your pages and
viewing the lovely photos. I especially found
your gallery interesting and liked how you
listed each area of interest. Great site!
Great Shots have never seen real snow realy enjoyed
Thank You for the beautiful photos of Guerilla Bay and South Rosedale. We've been going there every year for holidays for over 10 years. You've captured the stunning beauty of the area. Unfortunately there are only awful postcards available from the area. A book of photos would be magic.
Sally
Fantastic.
From my recollection of the weather, you had a good run. Isn't this the part of Australia in which it rains more days than anywhere else?
Great work!
Brought back fantatstic memories of home. Particularly liked the SW Track gallery which I've had a crack at part of myself though I don't remember it being as easy as you found it.
Forty years ago as a bushwalker, I visited some of these huts.
Whites River, Mawson's, Valentines, Tin, Grey Mare and perhaps more.
I can assure you that I found myself turning the clock back while looking at your
slides. Just beautiful. How wonderful it is to know that they are still there and obviously being maintained.
The site is so nostalgic to me and it is very generous of you to share your beautiful photography.
Happy walking and skiing.
Bev Angel
Dear Johnny-boy,
This is my first e-mail, although I'm not sure if its working. I guess if you're reading this, then it has worked. Now that I've got this net stuff up and running, I don't quite know what to do with it! So much communication power, and so little to communicate... (!)
Must be going John, too busy to be messing around with this technological stuff anyway. Thanks for your help with the tightropes. "email" me back soon!
Your Friend and Colleague,
Peter Haasz
These phoyos lift my spirits Thanks
I love the photo gallery! I have a passion for huts, especially those
in the Kosciuszko and Namadgi National Parks. My ambition is to visit and
photograph them all. I'm trying to find out as much about their history
as possible and that's how I encountered your gallery. You seem to love
the great outdoors as much as I do. I can tell you are a ski freak!
I prefer bushwalking myself. I haven't learned to ski yet, but doing some
cross-country skiing in the national parks would be excellent once I learn.
Great pictures
Great Site and I loved the pictures.
So were to next?
great site, maybe you could email me and you could come around and show me how it is done...my icq number is 5001379
being a taswegian living in new south i need a reflections pic for my site so i don't get homesick lol....
Thank you for letting me see your wonderful photographs. I hope you don't mind, I have given your address to a friend in America. I know they will love them too
Have spent many years hiking this area in January (Summer). It is
magnificent in any season. Your photos bring many memorable evenings spent with groups, sitting around outside Grey Mare, Valentines, Mawson's etc. I have climbed Jagungal 17 times over the past 25 years.
Thank you for the memories.
I will return.
I loved it all!! Can I add a link to you from my page??
Lovely idea... However, is this Guestbook monitored, and safe for kids?
a magnificent spread of photos. altho I have seen much of the tasmanian wilderness during the franklin river blockade, the fact that I am in a wheelchair has unfortunately stopped me getting far into the snow country. perhaps a few shots of arid and semi-arid wilderness would have been great, but a lovely collection. you are blessed with a great talent as a photographer, thank you for sharing it.
Great pictures!
Beautiful pictures
Love your snow pics. Hope we have heaps this year.
I'm from Melbourne Australia and enjoyed looking at some familiar scenes from home. I'm actually looking for some animal pictures to take to school so i can show the children in my class what some of our native animals look like. I know you have some so will continue to browse your site.
Very Good.
Already visited a few of these huts.....thanks for reviving the memories
Just having a quick skim through whilst bookmarking your's and similar bushwalkers' photo sites.....will have a better look later. I hope to have something similar myself in the future (don't know when.....). I take it the fancy doo-dahs like the optionable slide show are provided by your ISP....or did you have to do some programming yourself ? I ask because I am in the process of teaching myself HTML/JavaScript....
Your slide shows are excellent but have you thought about annotating them slightly more such as what trip they were taken on, who some of the people are? Whatever they're still pretty good and it makes me envious being stuck in England! The skiing photos looked particulary good and the slideshow machine is just the ultimate in armchair viewing!
Going to South West Tassie in Febuary. Looks like it could be quite impresive. Done Cradle Mountain before. The plan is to be flown in and dropped ontop a beach, unsure which, but this shouold be a total experience and a half.
Very interesting, enjoyable, and relaxing.
Thank you for such beauty.
Ilove the photos of your country they are breath taking.
Thanks to everyone for their comments. It's great to see it's not only the international visitors who gain ideas from the galleries.
It just goes to show how much beauty is at home. The gallery will not be having too many more updates in the next twelve months
as my wife and I are taking a year off to travel the world. I will still be dropping in every now and then to answer email and other
minor improvements as I think of them.
It's great to see some new sites on a similar theme popping up in the last few months. I feel that they are all a valuable resource
for us all.
Thank you again for all your comments and support.
That's it! I'm going on holidays! You have installed in me the travel bug. Very well done. I sent your site details to friends in Canada so they can pre-view our wonderful country. I'm sure they will appreciate your efforts and thank you themselves.
Hello, long time no speak to!! thanks for the postcard. I showed our new peole your site, they were impressed
I've just viewed your whole collection and I find them the most amazing I've seen. My family and I have travelled extensively around the world but I must say that I've have yet to see anything quite as magnificent as we have here. In fact I've at a loss to explain why I haven't spent more time travelling around my own country. Your gallery has shown that there are certainly some extraordinary sights to see and adventures to experience.
Regards Alek Skorich
great shots of some fabulous huts...visited these huts on foot over the last four summers, but hoping for a good winter so i can visit them on skis
Hello!
your pictures are amazing! i will be travelling through australia in less than two weeks, and viewing
your photos adds to my anticipation.
thanks!
Very NIce - speed and quality excellent
Thanks for having me.
Great !
GREAT PHOTO'S WISH I COULD TAKE ONE'S AS GOOD.. LOOK FORWARD TO
REVISITING THE SITE...
Hi,
I was very impressed with your gallery of photos. I have travelled a lot around Queensland, New south Wales, Victoria,
South Australia and Western Australia, but I can see that I have a lot more to see. We are very lucky to have such a large,
beautiful country and I plan to see a lot more. Many thanks for your quick tour and keep up the good work. Your site is a
credit to you.
Mal Christie.
I really enjoy your photography, keep it up Peter.
hi,
your site is one of the greatest sites in the world..

I like the pictures of the huts. sure would like to visit your country.
Great Photos! You make me want to go there even more!
Thanks!
your slide viewer is GREAT
thanks for providing it to the
netiziens
Hi, Peters
it was my pleasure to visit your website. I belived it take many years to capture whole Tasmanian scenery.
Thanks.
deni
Great! This is what we miss in tiny overcrowded Holland!
The ANUMC (ANU Mountaineering Club) should have a link to this site. It's great.
am enjoying your presentations. i live in the bush country of alaska
and really appreciate beautiful country. your's is beautiful and
much of it is wild. it is interesting to see such different country
from where I live.
Shelly Davis of Ohio should learn to spell correctly.
I love the Australia Bushwalking Gallery!
Spectacular!
I REALLY enjoyed the photos. Australia is a lot more diverse than I thought and I hope to visit some day. If you get a chance come to Texas!! Have a great day!!
Thanks a lot. It's a great collection and it made me want to visit Australia.
Great page, great photos.
Heard about it from aus.bushwalking.
Got a few java script errors during the hinchinbrook slide show.
maybe it was me. (i'm running netscape 3).
As a keen bushwalker I just love your photos. Am still surfing your site but I really enjoyed your skitouring in the Snowy mountains slideshow. I walked from Charlottes pass to Kosci and then Kiandra by the main range and firetrails and it was interesting for me, as a non-skier, to see Valentine's Hut and top of Jagungal in winter!
regards
David
great pictures of awesome scenery. i am imagining living in one of those huts! not bad for one but look small for a party! i am just getting interested in nature photography. plan to start with a conoe and a camera this spring...wildlife, natural phenomena, people enjoying nature...nothing like you undertake but a great way to spend some non-working hours. keep up the great work. thanks.
Wonderful photos i have enjoyed looking at them. as I am over 80 I don't do a lot o rough walking but it's lovely to know others enjoy nature and the wild country
Regards Jack.
Excellent photos
I just love Wilsons Prom, I hope it stays the way it is forever.
Excellent photographs! I just enjoyed the Hinchinbrook Island slide show.
Now I know where to go when I come to Australia the next time. I "recently" did some
bush walking at Cape Tribulation, Bellenden Kerr N.P. as well as Wilson's Prom and took
some pictures. Maybe I'll manage to add them to my Homepage one fine day... I already
have a few pictures of US national parks at http://www.physik.tu-berlin.de/~wethkamp/pictures/usa_pic.htm
(but the scans unfortunately are of "moderate" quality)
I really enjoyed the bushwalk gallery.
I'm going to suggest this beautiful area to my brother who has lived in the Sydney area for 7 years. It may be fun on a weekend!
I was fortuate to see quite a few spectacular sights during a 9 wk visit to Australia!
I appreciated some of the unusual angles!

You have done exactly what I want to do; store all of my hut photos on a PC. Still waiting to decide what scanner to buy. Your collection looks great - well done.
I am with KHA and do a lot of maintenance work.
I will be back to look at them again.
Good walking
Bob
Great
It was a good slide except I would of preferred to see more of the Snowy Mountains and the river would of been nice!!
I've always wanted to go see the Snowy River because of the Show The Man From Snowy River!!
Nice photo's. Just back from a few days hiking around Wilson's Prom.
Had intended hiking back to Tali Karn but bush fires put an end to
that for a year or so.
Catch you on the trails.
Matt Webb
In this unusually warm winter of ours, I took great delight in viewing your snowy snapshots. Thank you for allowing me to join you on your journeys...
very beautyful pictures.thank you.
Loved it Peter... loved everything about your pages.
You have got photos of places I have been, and places I wish I could
get to. Fantastic!
did a lot of walking years ago.. (like about 15 years ago) around what is
now the Bimberi Wilderness Area and Namadgi NP.
Some of the peaks I have bagged around there include the usual, Franklin,
Ginnini, Gingera Bimberi, Murray, and even Mt Morgan. Kelly was interesting, as were
Creamy Flats. Beautiful country.
Thanks for taking the effort to show the rest of the world a truly special
part of Australia.
Chris.
Thanks for takinf\g the time to share your pics of the NSW high country.
I checked out your "5 day ski tour " slide show. It was truly inspirational!!
I cant wait to get some sking in that area myself.
Thanks again,
Peter Harvey.
Nice little photographic tidbits. Thanks
I've just started my interest in bushwalking.Went around Wilsons Prom in October and looking forward to the next adventure.Your photos really show what I am missing. Thanks
Love your pic's. I too love to photograph what I do and where I go on our vacations, just not enough
time and money to go everywhere I would like to go. Of course I would like to make it to your side
of the world one day, and I will.
Have a great day
Jerry Richardson
Thank you for your effort and the well presented material. It is lovely to see many places I have visited and some I have not.
Hey Peter, the new pictures are great! Thank you for letting me use one of your pictures in my website, I've added your name under it!
Thanks to you and the internet, many people can see things that probably they will never be able to see 'being there'!!
An exceptional page and documentation of the Australian bush, though it has made me extremely homesick!!Have you ever been walking in
Deua or Wadbilliga National Park? I particularly liked the pictures of Watsons Crags and the surrounding area, I will definately be back
when I need a wilderness "fix".
Notr bad Photo's, thanks for sharing
Hi Peter, your slideviewer program is excellent. I'm useing it on a site
I did for my dad at http://www.klimesh.com/redraiders/
Thanks for sharing your programing skills.
Excellent slide show - where do you acquire the software to run such a professional show?
It's available from http://www.ginini.com.au/tools/slideviewer/
Great photographs!!!!!!! I loved them. keep it up you are giving people like me a chance to see places that I would probley only be able to dream about, but wish very much to visit some day!
Beautiful pictures mate.
About time someone put some Australian snow pictures up on the Net......
Hello Peter,
thanks for your script. I am going to use it on our Oktoberfest Page to view the pictures.
Hope I 'll get it working.
Regards, Rainer
TOUR OF YOUR GALLERY WAS GREAT. GOOD LUCK WITH THE OLYMPICS, WE HAD IT LAST.

I like your site MATE
Great pictures! Really liked the creeping vine one.
Great to find such beatiful scenes on the Net. I've spent many happy hours walking the Australian Alps, and will be back on this site soon to feast on some more image-triggered memories. Thanks Peter.
Clear sunshine against pale blue skies sitting on a fresh carpet of brilliant white snow is certainly a sight to behold.
What an wonderful display of what can be done with the internet. You are an example for all to follow. These breathtaking images put the mind at ease. Well Done.
Excellent Wilderness gallery! I'll definitely have to check out some of your camping destinations when I have time!
It's excellent to see this on the web. Well done.
I would prefer more forest shots and less macho rivers & moutains shots though.
Thanks Peter. You made me feel so jealous.
I especially loved Nina Peak 1.
Now the only thing that is keeping me going is my trip in
25 days to Mt Gambier for some cave diving.
Cheers
David
Excellent photo gallery- thankyou!
Particularly like the feel of the Kanangra River scene.
Happy adventuring!
Nice Page.
I enjoyed browsing your site. It brought back many memories, especially as your first image (at Munyang car park) of your back country ski tour has a photo of my car in it (the white 4wd in the background). We spent 5 days in blizzard conditions based-camped at Whites River Hut that week. You certainly picked the right time to arrive. This year was better in terms of only 2 blizzard days and 3 perfect weather days (images can be seen at my URL). Again I enjoyed your site and will visit it again.
Like the dramatic colors without having to rely on blue sky.
Nice photos, nice site!
This has to be one of the most inspirational pages I have seen to date. I have spent the last two summers in the
Bogong High Plains and will be moving closer to them shortly. I hope that people who view the beautiful shots of
"Kossie" and other alpine areas realise how inherently fragile these areas are. Let's appreciate their beauty.
I hope that everyone who walks in the Alps in summer looks at the damage done and tries to understand the ecology.
Let's also remember that ski resorts are particularly damaging in some cases (how many spurs has Mt Hotham
resort "blown up", how many wetlands have been filled in so the slopes are suitable for beginners?)
Sorry to get on my soap box. I just want the beauty to be there for future generations.
Absolutely fantastic! Being a Queenslander and spending most bush experiences in & out of a 4WD somewhere near the coast, I appreciate being able to view the high country that seems so far away. Being a skier also makes it interesting to see the landscape without snow.
Cheers.
Sorry, I forgot to ask. Does anyone have any pictures of Kiandra? I
would love to see it after all these years. This site is great, the
pics remind me that there is more to life than being stuck in front
of the computer writing papers. My brain is fried, that should be 2000 below. thanks for any leads you can give me on pictures.
I was named after Kiandra, though I am from Idaho, USA. I just learned that it means sharp sticks used as knives. Prett interesting. My fiancee might be in the Olympics in 2004, so I hope to see my namesake.
Excellent site. Well done. It is great to be able to view so many quality
images of the Australian bush. It brings back good memories of past trips
and provides ideas for future trips.
I am running two courses titled "Navigation for Bushwalkers", each
course is approx. 22 hours, 3 + 3 hours theory, 8 hours navigation
exercise, 8 hours off-track bushwalk (Lamington NP). (I am doing this
for a teaching assignment, I have run the course before at Logan and
Southport TAFE colleges). First course start 30 July, second course
starts 10 September. Cost is $30 singles or $50 couple (to cover
maps and ads). Numbers strictly limited! Contact me via email or
phone 0755 463 601.
Goodone mate,
I currently live in California and miss the Snowies, the 'wangs etc.
I grew up in Cooma, so know those places well.
Liked your photos thanks for putting them up but could only see them as
thumbnails and slideshow also had blanks where larger pictures should
have been.
Many thank for the beautiful glimpses into the stunning scenery this country has to offer. I am adding your link to my homepage so that all my friends O/S can see what a beautiful place Australia is.
Keep up the great work:)
Beautiful! I can not wait to visit your wonderful country. I am doing
a project for school that has required me to take a hard look at Australia
and I find it fascinating. Thanks for the pics!
Fascinated to be able to check out ski conditions and see wonderful slides of ski-ing whilst it is high summer here. Thanks for helping me keep sane whilst I'm not able to ski!!
I certainly enjoyed your slideshow. It amazes me how much I enjoy visiting you folks down under. I have a better love for your country every time I visit on the net. I have enjoyed Xcountry sking for many years and have visited many a hut, never thinking of photographing them however. Thanks again for allowing this visit.
Your site is great. I loved all those pictures. It gives me some impression of your beautiful country.
From time to time I have trouble explaining to friends why I
bushwalk so often and travel many kilometres simply for the view.
Now I'm going to link to your site and point them here. That should be
explanation enough!!!
Keep it up.
went to the Budwangs about 4 weeks ago - I'd forgotten how spectacular it was - especially the rainforest hidden away in the gorges off Monolith Valley. You got any low-light photos of the rainforest parts?
Nice landscape photos Peter; I enjoyed your photos considerably.
Grover Larkins
Your pics serve as pleasant reminders of some of my previous walks.
Excellent pics! Good representation of Oz skiing.
Hi
Best web site I have seen, congratulations
I have walked most of the Snowy Mountains but have never take pictures that match yours
Have you a picture of The Swampy Plain River near The Alpine Way looking towards the main range?
hi...entirely enjoyed your site and the photos of skiing in australia...seems a lot like here in the white mountains of nh (usa)...i especially enjoyed the telemarker..."free the heel, legs of steel"...top marks...thanx for sharing....vince.
Well C.P Ravi and Lars, I appreciate your humour. It just seems amazing that you have accounts with ozemail and CSIRO.
How generous of them. Your phone bills must be huge!!!!
I am noticing a very nice reproduction of the Peugeot 504 which is
bringing tears to my eyes. I am also having such a beautiful Peugeot
504 in my home town. I am noticing also that a Lars Rasmussen is
adding his words to your esteemed webbing page. Would he be the same
gentleman I was meeting at the Hajeemoosa silk emporium in Madurai
last summer?
I am wanting to congratulate you on the very nice reproductions of
snow in your gallery. Perhaps I am hoping that one day I will be able
to expose myself to your scenery.
C.P. Ravi
What a great page - Ive bookmarked it and use the slide show as a
screen saver.
Nothing like seeing the beauty of the mountains and getting
inspirations for weekend ski trips while I sit in my
dingy little office where a stingy ray of sunlight struggles feebly
down between the houses tall etc, (excuse me Banjo Pattison).
Gr
